36C Breast Size
C cup breasts are considered to be a fairly average cup size for women’s breasts, but assuming a woman’s relative breast size by her cup size is not always accurate. Cup sizes do not remain consistent across different band sizes, which means that a woman with 36C breasts has much larger breasts than someone with a 32C bra size. Cup sizes are determined in proportion to a woman’s band size, so a woman with 36C boobs has nearly identically sized breasts as a woman with a 34D bra size. In this example, the woman with the 36C cup size has a slightly larger frame than the woman with the 34D size. A 36C is comparable in size to the following sizes as well: 32DD bra size, a 38B bra size, or a 40A bra size. It is important to get measured properly to determine which size bra provides optimal support since there are multiple sizes which may «fit» a woman, but do not actually fit perfectly.
In addition to cup and band size, a woman’s bodily proportions can change the appearance of the relative size of her breasts. Considering this, 36C breasts can appear to be fairly prominent or relatively small on different women. For example, if a woman is a «pear shape» (defined as carrying most of her weight in her bottom half) 36C boobs would look somewhat small from the front since her hips are noticeably wider than her upper body. If this same woman carried very little body fat in her stomach, her 36C breasts would look fairly prominent when viewed from the side. If a woman were shaped like an «apple» (defined as carrying her body fat primarily in her stomach), 36C boobs would look small since there would be little definition between her breasts and stomach. If an extremely slender and narrow hipped woman had 36C breasts, her breasts would look relatively large on her frame since her ribcage and breasts would appear larger.
Like all breasts, 36C natural breasts come in a variety of shapes. 36C breasts may hang lower or higher on a woman’s chest depending on her age, genetics, and lifestyle. Although 36C boobs are not large enough that sagging is inevitable for every woman, they are large enough that women with natural 36C breasts may be concerned about the possibility of sagging. In general, the most important factors that would influence sagging in a woman with natural 36C breasts would be changes in weight and age. Gaining or losing weight quickly is more likely to result in sagging breast tissue than maintaining a stable weight or experiencing gradual changes in weight. Age is also a natural cause of breast sagging. As Dan Mills MD, Vice President of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic surgery, explains, «like all the tissue in your body» breasts are «made up of collagen and elastin, which break down as you age.» due to drastic changes in weight and aging. For women with natural 36C boobs who want to prevent their boobs from sagging, or who just want to add more lift to their breasts, sometimes breast implants or a breast lift are pursued as surgical solutions. Whether or not a woman with natural 36C breasts pursues a breast augmentation, she should always make sure to wear a properly supportive bra, especially during exercise.
36C breasts with implants can be the result of either a woman with naturally smaller breasts inserting implants to increase her size up to a 36C, or a woman with natural 36C breasts inserting a small implant to make her natural bust more full and perky. If a woman is hoping to achieve a natural look with breast implants, she should opt for a size that is within one or two cup sizes of her natural size. Considering this, women with natural 36A, 36B, or small 36C breasts would appear to have a relatively natural looking bust if they opted to have a breast augmentation to achieve a full 36C size. Women with a 36AA bust, however, would be more likely to look obviously surgically enhanced if she were to request implants that would bring her up to a 36C. It is more difficult to achieve a natural looking 36C augmentation from a small size like 36AA because the woman would be unlikely to have enough skin on her chest to allow the implants to sit comfortably. Many women who pursue breast implants that are too large for their frame will experience breasts that look as if they are bolted onto the chest.
The appearance of 36C breasts with clothes on depends a lot on a woman’s body shape, the bra that she chooses to wear, and her clothing choices. Regardless of body type, wearing a push up bra with a tight top will make the breasts appear more noticeable than wearing no bra and a baggy sweatshirt. Generally speaking, the thinner a woman is in her midsection, the larger her breasts will appear proportionally because fabric lays across the part of the body that protrudes furthest. 36C breasts are relatively easy to dress because they are not large enough that a woman would tend to need to size up her clothing to accommodate her breast volume if she has an average size body. In contrast, a woman with a 36E bra size and average body size would most likely need to buy dresses and tops that were larger and tailor her clothing to fit her body. Having said that, a very slender woman with 36C breasts may need to buy a larger size to accommodate her breasts and then have the extra fabric taken in if she prefers a more form fitting look.
A 36C bra will be noticeably larger than that of smaller cup sizes with the same band size. For example a woman with 36A size breasts could wear a very flimsy bra as there is very little to support, but a woman with a 36C bust would need to wear a bra with support. Boobs that require a 36C cup size are most likely the size of a handful; a 36B would be almost a handful (about 3/4); a 36A would be a small bump.
Although every woman’s breast appearance is unique, sometimes it is interesting and reassuring to see how other women’s breasts look when they share the same size. Below is a list of some celebrities with 36C boobs to show women with a 36C cup size that they are in good company!
